Louisa says:

We were over in Liverpool to go up to the tower of the Anglican Cathedral (something I never did while living in sight of it, going to uni right next to it or graduating within it) and on the way in from the motorway, we decided to have a quick drive around my old student houses (a thing I do whenever I return: each time I’m amazed they haven’t been condemned yet).

We came across this scene on Bagot St, off Smithdown Road, between the Aldi and the austere church I had always enjoyed while walking along Lawrence Road.

It was just starting to get going when we arrived and soon the blaze was quite intense. We parked a little down the road as we were worried that the van’s petrol tank might explode, causing a chain reaction to the other cars parked VERY close by. The fire brigade arrived shortly afterwards though and reduced the flames to smokey steam. The road cleared shortly afterwards and we continued on our journey to climb the many, many steps to the top of the tower.
