My mum now reads my blog. She’s explained very clearly that the swearing must stop and I’m no longer allowed to publish my opinions on religion.

I wonder how this blogging thing will change our relationship. When we see each other we usually talk about what’s been going on in our lives. If she gets to read it all here then that’s kind of a spoiler. If I don’t find new ways of entertaining my mum I fear she will stop cooking for me. note to self: do more things and don’t write about them all in your blog.

I visited her and dad last night and we had pasta bake. I ranted about how the UK government sells arms which Indonesia uses to commit human rights abuses, and how Evil(tm) Nestle are. I wonder if my mum and dad sometimes just wish I was a bit more ‘normal’.

“Why couldn’t you just watch a *little* television?”
“A few McNuggets couldn’t hurt could they?”
“Why not go out to that nice night club?”
“Just you finish that Budweiser mister!”
“Is a bank’s ethical investiment policy really that important?”
“Just eat your beef lips and be quiet.”
“Plans to overthrow the government and murder the royal family have no place in this house young man.”

I’m of course mostly joking, my family have actually always been very supportive and at least seemingly understanding; I love them all very much.

Did I mention my brother has had a hair cut yet? 7 years or so of long hair and now *poof!* Slightly shorter hair! I seem to be growing mine, it’s going all fuzzy. It’s my winter coat.
