this is my first time on ELER and first attempt to write comic strip scenario, so show mercy
now, here are relevant news pieces:
* http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=06/05/24/1154233 article by RMS titled "The Curious Incident of Sun in the Night-Time" discussing how Sun did nothing to open java, but recieved a lot of free publicity
* in the article title RMS is paraphrasing dialog of Holmes and Watson form AC Doyle's story "Silver Blaze" http://developers.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=186539&threshold=0&commentsort=0&mode=thread&cid=15394561
* Mark Shuttleworth was one of those heavily supporting Sun in creating "non-incident" media hype http://www.sun.com/smi/Press/sunflash/2006-05/sunflash.20060516.4.xml http://flickr.com/search/?q=shuttleworth+javaone
* in other news Brian Stevens says RedHat is not happy with the license... http://www.regdeveloper.co.uk/2006/05/18/red_hat_sun_java_license/
* ... but Schwartz (Sun CEO) says that open sourcing Java is a how, not why question http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/05/16/1756226
Right now my script idea still lacks some depth, but i see it like that:
Mark Shuttleworth: "Is there any floating point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
Brian Stevens: "To the curious incident of Stallman in the night-time."
Mark Shuttleworth: "What Stallman says is what he already said 20 years ago."
Brian Stevens: "This is the curious incident."
known problems with this scenario:
- no ESR
- Brian Stevens is not a poster-boy guy
- i'm not sure it's funny enough
